At about 20 minutes drive form the casino there is the GoatHouse Brewing Company, serving house beers at this beautifully converted barn.
You could catch NBA basketball team Sacramento Kings playing in the brand-new Golden 1 Center. This venue also hosts concerts. The California State Capitol is also in downtown Sacramento, and tours are available there. The Crocker Art Museum is the main cultural attraction downtown.
Historic Old Town Sacramento and the California State Railroad Museum are great options for visiting with family and to keep the kids well entertained. The National Historic Landmark District has an abundance of dining and shopping options. The Railroad Museum has huge trains and other historic exhibits on display. Another great place for exploration is Sutter’s Fort, which played a part in the Donner Party rescue and the discovery of gold in California. It also served as a final destination for pioneers on the California Trail.
Lake Tahoe is beautiful to see and has an outdoor playground resembling a winter wonderland in season.
